Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Prepare a sheet tray with parchment.
  2. Add sundried tomatoes, shallots, garlic, parsley, beef, lentils, Aleppo pepper, and Baharat to a food processor. Pulse 10-12 times to combine and create a simple loose emulsion.
  3. Add tomato paste and oil. Pulse a few more times to smooth out.
  4. Prepare and flatten out the pizza dough. Spread topping out thinly over either the pizza base or evenly divided amongst the five flat breads. Transfer to prepared sheet tray and bake for 7-8 minutes.
  5. Garnish with parsley and wedge of lemon, and serve hot.

½ cup (125 mL) sundried tomatoes

½ cup (125 mL) shallots, minced

¼ cup (60 mL) garlic cloves, minced

¼ cup (60 mL) parsley, stems and leaves

½ lb (250 g) ground beef

½ lb (250 g) whole red lentils, cooked

1 tsp (5 mL) Aleppo pepper

2 Tbsp (30 mL) Baharat

½ cup (125 mL) tomato paste

¼ cup (60 mL) canola oil

1 lb (500 g) uncooked pizza dough or 5 each whole wheat flat bread

½ cup (125 mL) parsley leaves, chiffonade

10 each lemon wedges
