Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine lentils, beef, and bacon into one evenly mixed blend. Form into evenly sized patties, approximately 3 oz (90 g) each.
  2. Add patties to a hot skillet and immediately smash to ensure even sear and crust.
  3. Cook for 3 minutes on each side. Add a slice of cheese to the patty in the last 30 seconds of cooking.
  4. To build each slider, open the slider bun, place the patty, crispy onion strings, and BBQ sauce.

Ingredients

2 lbs (1 kg) whole red lentils, cooked

3 ½ lbs (1.75 kg) ground beef

1 ½ lbs (750 g) bacon, cooked and crumbled

20 slices of Colby jack cheese, halved

5 quarts (5 L) fried onion strings

1 ¼ cups (310 mL) BBQ Sauce

40 slider buns
