This sauce is as versatile as it gets! Classic marinara flavours are only made better with the nutritious addition of cooked lentils of your choice.
2 Tbsp (30 mL) olive oil
1/2 cup (125 mL) finely diced onions
1 Tbsp (15 mL) minced garlic
2 ¼ cups (560 mL) crushed tomatoes
2 ¼ cups (560 mL) fire roasted tomatoes
1 Tbsp (15 mL) finely chopped parsley
1 Tbsp (15 mL) dry oregano
2 bay leaves
5 basil leaves, fine chop
1 Tbsp (15 mL) honey
3 cups (750 mL) cooked lentils
to taste, salt and pepper
