Combine dry lentils and spices into a mason jar - this makes a great gift for holidays and party hosts!
(Optional) Tasty Preparation Tips: -Use vegetable or chicken stock, instead of water, to enhance the flavour -Saute 1 chopped onion in 1 Tbsp (15 mL) of oil on medium heat for 3 minutes. Add the spices and continue to cook for 1 minute. Add liquid and lentils, and continue to follow the cooking directions above -Toss in your favourite vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, olives, or eggplant -Try this dish in a slow-cooker with your favourite vegetables and meat
¾ cup (175 mL) green lentils
1 tsp (5 mL) dried oregano
1 tsp (5 mL) dried basil
½ tsp (2 mL) dried parsley
¼ tsp (1 mL) ground sage
¼ tsp (1 mL) onion powder
2 ¼ cups (560 mL) water
