Black Tahini Lentil Hummus

    2 Tbsp (30 mL) lemon juice

    2 Tbsp (30 mL) honey

    2 Tbsp (30 mL) garlic, whole

    2 tsp (10 mL) salt

    ½ cup (125 mL) black tahini

    ¼ cup (60 mL) water

    2 cups (500 mL) whole red lentils, cooked and drained well

    1 tsp (5 mL) cumin

    3 Tbsp (60mL) olive oil


Directions

  1. In the bowl of a food processor, add lemon juice, honey, garlic, salt, and tahini. Blend until thick and creamy, scraping down the bowl as necessary. Add water as necessary to adjust consistency.
  2. Add lentils and cumin. While processing, drizzle in oil and blend until smooth. Adjust seasoning if necessary with additional honey, lemon juice, and/or salt.
