Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a large sauté pan and cook over medium heat, stirring well to evenly coat with oil and spices.
  2. Crumble is ready once aromatic and heated evenly to allow the flavor of spices to bloom.
  3. Use this crumble as taco or burrito filling, or as a topping to nachos, taco salad, tostadas, flatbreads or pizzas, etc.

1 lb (500 g) whole red lentils, cooked

¼ lb (125 g) pine nuts (or pepitas for a nut-free option)

¼ lb (125 g) sundried tomatoes, minced

2 cups (500 mL) yellow onion, minced

¼ cup (60 mL) garlic, minced

2 Tbsp (30 mL) paprika

1 Tbsp (15 mL) chili powder

1 Tbsp (15 mL) dried oregano

2 tsp (10 mL) cumin

2 tsp (10 mL) coriander

1 tsp (5 mL) kosher salt

1 tsp (5 mL) black pepper

2 Tbsp (30 mL) canola oil
